Jakarta -Chairman of the 2018 Asian Games organizing committee (INASGOC) Erick Thohir said thousands of journalists from various countries will come to Jakarta and Palembang to cover Asia’s biggest sporting event.
“From the press briefing that came to 7,000 journalists from various countries,” he said after the Asian Games Coordination Meeting at City Hall, Friday (5/4/2018).
He also said that the amount was more than INASGOC estimates of only 5,000 journalists. Thus, the number of media coming to Indonesia more than the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, South Korea.
Nevertheless, Erick conveyed to the Vice Governor of DKI Sandiaga Uno there is a negative impact that can occur because membeludaknya media will cover.
“X-factor is because many media, no matter how small our mistakes will be highlighted, Mr. Vice Governor later a lot of TV will broadcast live, China can be 12 hours a day,” he added.
According to him, the Organizing Committee of Asia (OCA) or the Asian Games Committee will support the INASGOC committee in other countries, such as the Netherlands, America, and others. He admitted that he is still waiting for an official letter from OCA.
“OCA promise to love the letter 60 days before the opening ceremony,” he said.
As is known, 2018 Asian Games event will take place on August 18 to September 2 next. Some venues that will be used include Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Velodrome Rawamangun, Equestrian, and Village Athletes in Kemayoran.
