Jakarta -Counterpoint research firm has informed the list of best-selling sales of smartphones during March 2018. According to the list, iPhone X is still at the top of the world by grabbing a 3.5% market share. Then followed by his brother, iPhone 8 Plus with a 2.3% share of global mobile phone sales.
And for the first time in history, Xiaomi became the third manufacturer to occupy the world’s best-selling smart phone. This is achieved by low budget phone, Redmi 5A which reached 1.8% market share. The handset defeats the Oppo A83 which also reaches the same percentage of sales.
The fifth and sixth places were taken by Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + with 1.6% of total global sales for each handset. Quite surprising the iPhone 7 still appears on this list with the same amount of 1.6%.
The list is complemented by iPhone 8 which reached 1.4% in sales, Samsung Galaxy J7 1.6%, and iPhone 6 with 1.2% mastery. Counterpoint states, while the iPhone X remains the leader of ultra-premium smartphone segment.
In the premium market, the South Korean manufacturer is able to double its share of sales over the same period in 2017. While Chinese manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei, and Vivo remain as leaders in the middle-class smartphone segment.
Equally important, the range of low-end smartphones is highly selected by Samsung, Xiaomi, and Honor. These three names are responsible for the lion’s share of the competitive segment.
