Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk. has spread around 2 million pieces of electronic money under the trademark Tap Cash until the end of October 2017.
SEVP Information Technology BNI Dadang Setiabudi said, of the total outstanding, 16% to 20% of them are cards with a special design.
From that portion it can be estimated that around 320,000 pieces to 400,000 pieces are specially designed electronic money.
“[This special design] is essentially designed if it has business potential and can be used openly,” he said in Jakarta, Friday (27/10/2017).
Dadang pointed out, several universities in the country has worked with BNI as a strategy of expanding public interest in electronic money.
The universities are University of Indonesia with 30.000 pieces and Universitas Surabaya 15.000 pieces.
In addition, management also embraces music lovers by launching a special edition of Java Jazz totaling 40,000 pieces.
By the end of the year, the bank focusing on the corporate sector lending targets the increase in the special and co-branded e-money portions to 25% to 30%, or about 700,000 pieces.
The way it is done is by holding some communities that have members in large numbers.
“We will pursue the target within the next two months of the year,” he said.
