JAKARTA – Forbes again launched a list of the world’s richest people, which includes a number of names ranging from Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg, Mukesh Ambani, to Kylie Jenner.
Forbes World’s Billionaires released on Tuesday (03/05/2019) US time, said there were 2,153 billionaires around the world with total assets worth US $ 8.7 trillion or around Rp123,070.2 trillion [Bank Indonesia middle exchange rate Rp.14,146] .
However, the number of billionaires was reduced by 55 compared to last year. The total wealth value also decreased by US $ 400 billion, or Rp.5,658.4 trillion, compared to the 2018 figure.
Furthermore, 247 people or 11% of last year’s billionaire list were no longer on the same list in 2019. This decline was called the highest since 2009, when the global financial crisis was at its peak.
A total of 49 of them are from China. The European, Middle East and African regions also experienced the same thing.
On the other hand, the US and Brazil have become countries with a growing number of billionaires. The US now has 607 billionaires, which includes 14 of the richest people in the top 20 list.

1) Jeff Bezos and family (US $ 131 billion)
The Amazon founder now serves as the CEO of the company and controls 16% of its shares. He also became the owner of The Washington Post and Blue Origin, a space company that developed rockets.
2) Bill Gates (US $ 96.5 billion)
Gates now only has about 1% of Microsoft shares, although he still serves as a commissioner of the technology company. He also invests in stocks and other assets.
3) Warren Buffett (US $ 82.5 billion)
Buffett leads Berkshire Hathaway, which has more than 60 companies including Duracell battery companies and Dairy Queen restaurants.
4) Bernard Arnault and family (US $ 76 billion)
The company he leads has 70 world-renowned brands, including Louis Vuitton and Sephora.
5) Carlos Slim Helu and family (US $ 64 billion)
Slim is from Mexico and his family controls America Movil, the largest cellphone operator in Latin America. He also has shares in construction, consumer goods, mining and real estate companies in Mexico and holds 17% of The New York Times.
6) Amancio Ortega (US $ 62.7 billion)
Although the name is not widely known, Ortega is the richest retail entrepreneur in the world through Inditex. The company is the owner of Zara, Massimo Dutti, and Pull & Bear, whose number of stores reaches 7,500 outlets worldwide.
7) Larry Ellison (US $ 62.5 billion)
Ellison was co-founder of the Oracle software company in 1977. In March 2018, he launched a startup called Sensei, whose first project was hydroponic farming in Hawaii. In the same year, he joined Tesla’s board of commissioners after buying 3 million shares of the electric vehicle manufacturer.
8) Mark Zuckerberg (US $ 62.3 billion)
His name is probably the best known in the whole world. Moreover, since Facebook got a lot of criticism after data of tens of millions of users leaked and suffered various hoax distribution problems last year. At present, Zuckerberg controls 17% of Facebook shares.
9) Michael Bloomberg (US $ 55.5 billion)
He is one of the founders of Bloomberg media company and now owns 88% of the company’s shares, whose revenues reach US $ 9 billion.
10) Larry Page (US $ 50.8 billion)
Page is one of the founders of Google, along with Sergey Brin. He was the first Google CEO until 2001, and then returned to that position in 2011.
