Jakarta -Pekanbaru Garuda Indonesia Airlines Branch, November 3, 2018, will open a new flight route from Pekanbaru to Batam to capture the increasing potential of passengers.

“Garuda Indonesia’s new route will be officially opened as of November 3, served by a fleet of ATR 72-600 with a capacity of 70 seats or passengers,” General Manager of Garuda Indonesia Branch Office Agung Anugrah told Antara in Pekanbaru on Wednesday.

Agung Anugrah explained the reason Garuda opened a new route directly Pekanbaru-Batam and on the contrary this was because it saw the potential of passenger traffic that continued to increase by businessmen and the elite.

“In addition to supporting two provincial air connectivity so that it can help develop the potential of the regional economy and tourism,” he said.

He said the consideration of opening this route had been through a number of considerations such as from the internal side, he had calculated the number of fleets, crew and route permits.

“As for the external side, because we see that there is great potential in these two regions, Pekanbaru – Batam. Especially for corporate passengers. In addition, the Pekanbaru-Batam traffic is also very high. Even the third highest in Western Indonesia after Jakarta and Kualanamu Medan,” he said.

Furthermore, Agung said, new route flights are scheduled for departure time from Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru at 10:00 WIB and arrived at Hang Nadim Airport Batam at 11:15 WIB.

While departing from Batam Hang Nadim Airport at 08.10 WIB and arrived in Pekanbaru at 09.30 WIB.

Rates are offered at prices starting at Rp648,000 for the Pekanbaru – Batam route, and Rp.663,000 for the Batam – Pekanbaru route.

“We are optimistic that the public will be interested in accordance with Garuda’s business chorus, while maintaining maximum service for passengers,” he added.

For that reason, Agung Garuda continued to target the opening of the new route, a load factor of 70 percent would be reached. “Now the booking has begun,” he concluded.
