JAKARTA -Vice President Jusuf Kalla met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang during the Indonesia-China Business Summit event at Shangri-La Hotel on Monday (5/7/2018) night.
In his speech, JK said there are sectors that promise to be worked by Indonesia and China. In fact, investors from Panda Affairs have injected capital into an Indonesian digital company.
“Tencent invested US $ 1.2 billion to Gojek in 2017, Alibaba’s investment in Tokopedia amounted to US $ 1.1 billion, and JD.com conspiracy injected US $ 350 million into Traveloka,” he said.
JK said the amount of investment coming into Indonesia reached US $ 5 billion in the last 3 years. According to him, the potential of the digital economy sector in Indonesia has begun to be viewed well by various circles.
“The digital economy sector is very promising, I see the prospect of cooperation between Indonesia and China promises both in terms of quality and quantity,” continued JK.
He added that in terms of investment, China is Indonesia’s third largest investor with a total investment of US $ 3.3 billion in 1,977 projects. This amount does not include Hong Kong.
“[Indonesia-China cooperation] ensures the quality of products and excellent service, and technology transfer,” said JK.
The Indonesia-China Business Summit is part of China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang’s country visit to Indonesia, which brings the mission of strengthening bilateral relations, particularly the economic sector.
