Jakarta -Lion Air Group, via Thai Lion Air, will soon serve the airline route with the world’s first Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.
The HS-LSH-registered aircraft was soon entering commercial service, after being imported by Boeing Company directly from Seattle, USA to Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok, Thailand.
Boeing 737 MAX 9 is a single-aisle single-chambered (single aisle) single-seater with ample seating space. The aircraft was also equipped Boeing Sky Interior, with a large luggage storage space.
CEO and Chairman of Thai Lion Air Capt. Darsito Hendro Seputro said the company, which is one of the business units of Lion Air Group is proud to operate the world’s first Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.
Thai Lion Air will use the latest aircraft for expansion by opening more long routes.
“This aircraft is perfect to support our growing business in Thailand. MAX 9 will be one of the strengths of Thai Lion Air’s fleet in increasing transport capacity while opening several new routes, “he said in an official statement on Saturday (24/3).
President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Kevin McAllister said Lion Air is one of many airline groups that rely on single aisle aircraft. Using the Boeing 737 MAX, Lion Air Group can further improve efficiency in the aviation industry.
Boeing 737 MAX 9, according to him can reduce the operational costs of airlines because more efficient. Kevin said the 737 MAX was the series of aircraft that posted the fastest sales in Boeing history.
From the technology side, Boeing 737 MAX 9 has two indentations on each of the winglets. The aircraft uses the International LEAP-1B CFM engine to reduce noise levels.
Fuel consumption and aircraft emission levels are claimed to be 14% lower than the current 737 type.
Lion Air Group is the first buyer of Boeing MAX 9. The airline group based in several Southeast Asian countries is also the first airline operator to add Boeing 737 MAX 8 into its operational services.
Lion Air Group also committed to bring in 50 units of Boeing 737 MAX series 10. The airline group has an additional order of 1,273 MAX series aircraft, making Lion Air Group one of the largest operators in the world.
Thai Lion Air is one of the Low Cost Carriers (LCCs) at Lion Group, established in 2013, has 12 domestic networks, two cross-country flights and more than 20 international destinations.
Thai Lion Air operates all new aircrafts, comprising Boeing 737-900ER can carry 215 passengers, Boeing 737-800 with 189 seats, Airbus A330-300 with a capacity of 392 seats. Currently, Thai Lion Air has a total of 32 new aircraft.
For service to customers, Thai Lion Air provides free luggage of 20kg on international flights, 10kg for domestic flights and 15kg of sports equipment. Thai Lion Air also has a new service called Lion Seat Selection, offering convenience for passengers to choose their own seats with rates starting at 60 Baht.
