Singapore -Singapore Airlines (SIA) will start the Singapore-New York route with nonstop services starting in October. This route is claimed to be the longest commercial flight in the world.
The fleet used is the newest Airbus A350-900ULR (ultra-long-range) recently purchased by the airline.
Flights will launch on October 11, 2018, and daily flights will start on October 18 from Changi Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport.
Singapore Airlines CEO Goo Choon Phong said at first the non-stop flights of Singapore-New York route will be served three times a week, with departures from Singapore every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
“The daily flight service will start on October 18 after the A350-900 ULR aircraft are added in the airline service network,” said Goo Choon Phong, Thursday (31/5/2018).
