Seminyak, Bali
Seminyak is Bali's polished beach town on the island's southwest coast, where wide stretches of dark golden sand meet a lively mix of boutiques, cafes and quiet residential lanes. It feels relaxed rather than rowdy, with a confident, cosmopolitan edge. We think it suits couples, friends travelling together and anyone who wants good food and easy comfort within reach of the island's wider attractions.
Days here tend to start on the beach, whether you surf, swim or simply watch the sunset from a seaside seat. Our favourite way to fill the hours between is browsing local design shops, eating everything from simple warungs to inventive modern kitchens, and visiting nearby temples such as Petitenget, which gives a glimpse of everyday Balinese ritual. For greener scenery, rice terraces and volcanic highlands are a day trip away. We recommend visiting between April and October, when the dry season brings sunny skies and calmer seas, though the shoulder months are often less crowded.
