Jakarta -The Ministry of Home Affairs is formulating regulations for enabling users of electronic-based identity cards or KTP-el to purchase automotive products outside their domicile.
Director General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs Zudan Arief Fakrulloh said his agency intends to apply the national ID card. In order to achieve these objectives, MoHA has deregulated the duty of using a resident identity according to domicile for a number of purposes.

After the land and bank account, Zudan promised purchase of automotive products such as cars or motorcycles no longer have to use ID cards according to domicile. Currently, the Directorate General of Dukcapil and the Directorate General of Regional Financial Management of the Ministry of Home Affairs together with the Police and the automotive industry association are discussing the regulation.

As of May 20, 2018, Kemendagri claimed 181.22 million Indonesians had recorded ID cards. This amounted to 94.20% of the 192.47 million citizens who are required to have ID cards.
