Jakarta -Around 600 homes were reported to be hacor due to lava flows on the Big Island of Hawaii that have continued since the eruption of Kilaeua Volcano began early last month, the Mayor of Hawaii, Harry Kim, said Thursday.
Kilauea is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
Kim said it also marks the most damaging episode of Kilauea in recent periods, as quoted by Reuters on Friday (08/06/2018).
Governor David Ige has made a visit to the Hawaii Civil Defence headquarters in Hilo, the island’s largest city, in relation to natural disaster relief.
An estimated 2,500 people have been displaced, and geologists say they do not know how long the eruption will continue.
