JAKARTA – Airline operators, Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. adding frequencies to three flight routes namely Jakarta-Banyuwangi, Jakarta-Batam, and Jakarta-Semarang.
Garuda Indonesia Marketing and IT Director Nina Sulistyowati said the additional frequency is one of Garuda Indonesia’s efforts to optimize the potential market share. This additional frequency is planned starting in November 2017.
Later, the Jakarta-Banyuwangi flight is served 7 times a week from the previous one served only 5 times a week starting on 23 November. The reason, as one of the new tourist destinations makes the demand for flights to Banyuwangi increasing.
“The addition of this flight frequency will not only facilitate market demand but also support the development of tourism that can contribute to the achievement of the target of 20 million foreign tourists in 2019,” Nina added through a press release on Friday (27/10/2017).
Meanwhile, starting from November 17, 2017, the Jakarta-Batam flight will be served 40 times a week, previously 35 times a week. The Jakarta-Semarang flight is 70 times a week, 63 times a week.
“The addition of flight frequencies we do on these routes is our effort to provide transportation convenience for our service users in these cities to do business and vacation,” Nina added.
Not only these three routes, this year Garuda Indonesia has also opened several new routes such as Baubau-Kendari, Makassar-Raha, Menado-Luwuk and Jakarta-Banyuwangi.
Throughout 2017 Garuda Indonesia has added several flight frequencies in between; Jakarta-Pinangsori, Ambon-Langgur, Denpasar-Lombok, Jakarta-Silangit, Makassar-Baubau, Manado-Sorong-Jayapura, Nabire-Timika, Nabire-Biak, and Nabire-Jayapura.
