Jakarta -The United States (US) and North Korea recorded history this morning in Singapore. Witnessed by the world, US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un for the first time face-to-face and shake hands.
Reported by CNN, the second most controversial handshakes of the leaders today, Tuesday (12/06/2018) at 9 am local time, became the beginning of their historic meeting at Hotel Capella, Sentosa Island.
This meeting is a remarkable development for both countries, after all the year 2017 clashing diplomatic views and exchanging rhetoric.
After shaking hands for about 12 seconds and conducting a photo session, the two leaders are currently holding a closed meeting, accompanied only by their respective translators, at Hotel Capella.
After a closed meeting, the two leaders and some officials will hold bilateral meetings and lunch together.
A number of officials accompanying Trump in the bilateral meeting include Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser John Bolton, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, and White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
Next, Trump is scheduled to hold a press conference at 4 pm local time before flying back to the White House.
