GORONTALO -Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman released corn exports of 6,600 tons from PT Gorontalo Pangan Lestari to Philippines in Gorontalo District, Gorontalo Province, Thursday (3/5/2018).
“Today we will export to the Philippines, three months ago we also exported the 50,000 ton plan, we received 70,000 tons of exported reports,” he said.
Amran said, if possible, it will add another Gorontalo corn export target to 100,000 or 150,000 tons to neighboring countries.
“This is a remarkable achievement, so that we came special and took the time to get to Gorontalo, this is also a way to raise the welfare of farmers,” said Amran.
He admitted that President Joko Widodo said there are two things that can lift the welfare of farmers and can sustain economic growth.
“First is the exports we are doing now, and the second is investment, now we are pursuing exports, because rich countries, big and strong,” he said, again.
According to him, the plan this year the number of corn exports will be added again throughout Indonesia and hope the first target of 500,000 tons can be achieved even more.
“We are very appreciative to the Governor, Regent of Gorontalo Province, where we promise to us that Gorontalo will export corn achieved,” he concluded.
