Jasa Raharja Distributes Accident Compensation Rp391.7 Billion

Jakarta -PT Jasa Raharja distributed accident benefits amounting to Rp391.7 billion until February 2018 increased 66.6% year-on-year compared to the same period in 2016 amounting to Rp235.11 billion.

Director of Jasa Raharja, Budi Rahardjo, said that the increase in the amount of compensation is mainly triggered by the regulation on the increase of accident benefit set by the Ministry of Finance at 100% last year. “Because there is an increase in the value of 100% compensation, the victim decreased by about 11%,” Budi said at the office of the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Tuesday (20/3/2018).

The provisions in question are Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. 15/2017 on Compulsory Benefits and Compulsory Funds of Passenger Accident Compensation, General Passenger Transport Equipment in Land, River or Lake, Ferry or Crossing, Sea and Air. There is also PMK No. 316 Year 2017 on the Great Compensation and Mandatory Contribution of Road Traffic Accident Fund.

Death benefit for accident victims causing death increased from Rp25 million to Rp 50 million, while for disabled victims also increased from Rp25 million to Rp 50 million, and treatment for injured persons also increased from Rp10 million to Rp20 million.

Under this regulation, there is a new compensation that is reimbursement cost of P3K Rp1 million, ambulance cost Rp500.000, and burial cost rose to Rp4 million. Last year, Jasa Raharja posted a total of Rp1.9 trillion in compensation, up 34.46% from 2016.

Jasa Raharja this year is again appointed as Head of Task Force Free Mudik involving 39 state-owned enterprises. This year Budi targets to organize free homecoming for 200 thousand participants or up 69.18% from the previous year as much as 118,217.

Budi said the potential for accident in Lebaran season usually tend to go down. This is due to the high level of traffic jams during the homecoming season, so the vehicle is relatively slower travelers.

He estimates the accident on two weeks during this year’s Lebaran season will drop by 10% compared to the same period of the previous year. “Because the police in the field all, then they make a barricade in the field, all arranged [so that the number of accidents during Lebaran season forth],” he said.
