North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that he has a button to launch a nuclear that is always on his desk so that the US will not be able to start a war.
In a televised new year speech, Kim stated that the entire US territory is within the reach of North Korea’s nuclear weapons. He asserted the existence of the nuclear button was a reality, not a threat.
When asked by a reporter regarding Kim’s threat, US President Donald Trump said, “We’ll see, we’ll see.”

North Korea gained some sanctions over the past year because of its nuclear weapons program and repeatedly tests conventional missiles.
The politically isolated country has conducted six nuclear tests and exhibited an increase in missile power.
In November, the North conducted a Hwasong-15 test, which could reach a height of 4,475 kilometers or more than 10 times the International Space Station.
The country also claims to have fully developed nuclear weapons, despite international skepticism about its actual capacity to carry out attacks.
In a televised address, Kim reiterated his focus on weapons programs, saying his country should mass-produce nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles and boost its development.
However, he also mentioned that relations between North and South Korea that are technically still in war, may subside.
“The year 2018 is a significant year for both North and South, with the North commemorating 70 years of its birth and South hosting the Winter Olympics,” he said.
