KPU Urged to Invite Political Parties to Verify DPT Data

Jakarta – To settle the case of 31 million voters who have not yet entered the final voter list (DPT), Deputy Ketu Commission II of the House of Representatives Ahmad Riza Patria encouraged the General Election Commission (KPU) along with stakeholders to carry out joint verification.

“We recommend that the KPU sit back together with political parties to verify that the issue is clearer and voter data is more accurate,” he told reporters on Sunday (12/09/2018).

Riza also reminded the need for the community to oversee the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) data so that the election runs clean.

“Data from the voters who are still confusing has the potential to trigger fraud in the upcoming 2019 election,” he said.

All elements of society who want Indonesian democracy to run well must ensure that the DPT will be accurate.

The Chairman of the Gerindra DPP assessed that the additional issue of the DPT could potentially trigger fraud and could be the entrance for incumbents to play the final results of the election. That is why the DPT is the key to the realization of quality elections.

He added that the issue of the DPT is not only a matter of political parties, or presidential / vice presidential candidates, but our problems are all of the nation’s children. The quality of democracy can be damaged and backward due to the chaotic government administration system so that it is very potential for fraud, he said.
