JAKARTA -PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. held a simultaneous clean-up of 260 mosques throughout Indonesia as well as Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This activity is in the framework of Bank Muamalat’s 26th anniversary as well as the implementation of corporate social responsibility. In addition to Jakarta and some cities in Indonesia, the Muamalat branch office in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia is also carrying out similar activities.
Bank Muamalat Commissioner Edy Setiadi said the reason for choosing the mosque as a place to channel the form of corporate social responsibility because the mosque is the center of Islamic civilization.
“As in the time of Prophet Muhammad first, the mosque was first built, the mosque is the starting place to build civilization,” he said in Jakarta, Saturday (4/28/2018).
Cleaning activity is done from 07.00 am to 12.00 noon. In addition to employees, the company’s board of commissioners and directors also participated. Mosque administrators and local residents also worked together to clean up this place of worship.
In addition to cleaning, Bank Muamalat also provide sumbangam of the completeness of the mosque equipment such as digital clocks, hygiene kits and tools solat.
Achmad K. Permana, President Director of Bank Muamalat hopes this activity can be beneficial for the people around the mosque so it is more comfortable in worship.
“We hope to continue to provide added value as a sharia bank that serves the ummah,” he said.
Currently Muamalat has 338 office networks throughout Indonesia. Muamalat shares are controlled by Islamic Development Bank of 32.7%, Boubyan Bank of Kuwait 22%, Atwill Holding Saudi Arabia 17.9%, National Bank of Kuwait 8.45% and the rest pouring business entities and individuals.
