Pertamina Gas Storage Tank in Makassar Collapsed

The gas storage tank for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at Pertamina’s Petroleum Terminal in Makassar collapsed.

Vice President Corporate Coomunication PT Pertamina (Persero) Adiatma Sardjito said gas storage tank in TBBM VII Sulawesi distribution unit located in the Port of Makassar is collapsed. However, it does not interfere with the distribution of gas activities.

Meanwhile, in its official statement, the collapse of the tank due to damage to the buffer section.

Almost similar incidents have occurred in 2009. In eight years ago, the incident was more severe because the fire burned two gas charging facilities and four tankers so the car cost up to Rp15 billion.

“The cause of the incident is still under investigation and there are currently efforts to repair the damage,” he said in an official statement.
