Jakarta -Vladimir Putin invites North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to visit Russia. Putin also expressed his appreciation of Kim’s meeting with US President Donald Trump in Singapore, on Tuesday (06/12/2018) ago. The invitation and appreciation was presented by Putin to the senior North Korean official, Kim Yong Nam, who visited Russia on Thursday (14/6/2018). To the North Korean ceremonial leader, Putin praised Kim Jong Un’s historic meeting with Donald Trump as a step toward full resolution. “Without a doubt it is the first step towards a total solution, thanks to the meeting, the worst possible scenario has been eliminated,” Putin told AFP.
“And of course it has created a condition for far – sighting and reducing tension in the Korean peninsula,” he added. Regarding the invitation to Kim Jong Un, Putin said he would be very pleased to welcome the North Korean supreme leader to Russia. Putin suggested meeting in an economic forum in the eastern port city of Vladivostok in September. Kim Jong Un has never even set foot to Russia. Unlike his father, Kim Jong Il, who once used his armored train, met Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in 2011. In the ranks of top Russian officials, only Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has met Kim Jong Un during a visit to Pyongyang at the end of May then. During his term as North Korean Leader, Kim Jong Un rarely travels abroad. So far Kim has met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and US President Donald Trump.
