Singapore -Singapore Airlines is listed as the largest subscriber B787-10.
With reservations of 49 aircraft as of March 2018, SIA is recorded as the largest buyer of the longest plane type Dreamliner this.
“Yes, I make sure Singapore Airlines is the biggest buyer,” Dinesh Keska SVP Sales Asia Pacifix and India Boeing Commercial Airplane said during the arrival of the plane in Singapore.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) received the delivery of Boeing 787-10 aircraft from factory production in North Charleston, South Carolina. SIA is the first airline in the world to receive the latest Boeing aircraft delivery.
The fleet will commence commercial operations next month. The fleet – the first of 49 Boeing 787 – 10 SIA aircraft types. Previously, the official acceptance of handover took place in North Charleston, USA, March 25, 2018 local time.
SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong immediately handover in North Charleston. The ceremonial event was also attended by Kevin McAllister, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, as well as Dominic Horwood, Rolls-Royce Director of Customers and Services – Civil Aerospace, and three thousand Boeing employees and other invited guests.
“It is an honor for us to be the first airline in the world to receive this spectacular flight. The 787-10 aircraft is a charming blend of engineering results and a masterpiece of high art, “Goh said during a ceremonial ceremony of the aircraft.
“This will be an important element in our overall growth strategy, enabling us to expand our network of airline routes and strengthen our operations,” Goh added.
“The delivery of the Boeing 787-10 aircraft underscores our long-term commitment to continuously operate a modern fleet of aircraft, and marks the commencement of a new phase of our partnership with Boeing.”
McAllister added, “Today is a historic day for us all in Boeing and all our global partner suppliers. We are delighted to have delivered the first 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft to Singapore Airlines, one of the world’s leading airlines. We are also honored by the partnership and trust that has been established with Singapore Airlines, as reflected by the continuous repeat of the Dreamliner plane booking. ”
The 787-10 aircraft owned by SIA will be operated on flights with up to eight hours duration. Osaka and Perth will be the first destinations scheduled to be served by this new fleet from May 2018. Prior to introduction on these routes, the Boeing 787-10 will be operated on selected flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur for crew training purposes.
